Borough Burblings 2 November

Another round of mixed results for the Borough last weekend (if you include Monday’s as part of the weekend. On Saturday, the only winning team was the Sixers who romped home by one shot with two rinks up. They sit second on their ladder. As for the others; the Premiers were described as “gallant” in their four shot loss to South, the One’s further enhanced their chances of winning the pennant with a 34 shot loss to White Hills, while the Three’s actually did well in losing to a star studded South Bendigo team by 12 shots.

On Monday, it was the Mid-week Sixers who were the only team to lose, by 19 shots. The Ones had a strong 37 shots / 2 rinks up over Woodbury and the Threes snuck home by one shot.

This weekend, at home the Premiers host last years pennant winners Bendigo and the Sixers are up against Inglewood. The Ones are off to Castlemaine, in what is the first visit there in a very long time by our second team. The main green at Castlemaine was grass the last time we went there. The Threes aim to continue their winning run at Bendigo.

On Monday (Melbourne Cup Eve), the Ones host current ladder leaders Inglewood. The Threes head off to Marong and the Sixers are playing at White Hills.

Don’t forget the the Ladies Consistency Fours coming up this week, please contact the club or Jan Conder.

Congratulations go to the rink of Barry Brackley, Max Taylor & Ray McLean (s) for winning the Gold Letter Triples against the South rink of Gary Ryan, Trevor Zimmer and Gary Conforti. The play off went down to an extra end with some great bowls from all of the players. We would like to thank our sponsors, Eaglehawk UFS, The Axiom Group, Cathcart Smash Repairs and William Farmer Funerals.
