Borough Burblings 16 November

Congratulations must go to Jan Robertson, Pam Hughes and Kaye Rowe for winning the Bendigo playing area women’s triples last Sunday. They has several tough battles on the way through to the final, winning the quarter final on the last end. In the final they blitzed their Maryborough opposition winning 24 to 8. A region play-off against Campaspe is next for them.

A much better weekend for pennant for the club last week. Some team wins and some heartbreaking losses. Weekend pennant saw the Sixers return to the winners circle with a strong 16 shot 2 rinks win over Heathcote. The Premiers went down by just 2 shots (one rink up) to Moama and the Ones came the closest to winning this season by losing to North by 4 shots (2.5 rinks up). The Three’s went down by 19 shots to Heathcote.

On Monday, the Ones defeated Square by 1 shot (1 rink up) with a favourable measure on the last end of the match. The Three’s had a strong 19 shot win against top team Bendigo East. The Sixers almost got there; one rink tied and the other went down by just one shot. Bad luck folks.

The only team in the four at the moment are the weekend Sixers with the Mid-week Ones sitting in fifth position.

The Bendigo region is playing in Ballarat this coming Sunday. Congratulations to Lachie Bowland and Tony Ellis for making the men’s provincial side. Also well done, again, to Kaye Rowe for being picked to play in the Boromeo/Lucas challenge against Ballarat.

The members draw this coming Friday stands at $170-00 – you must be there to claim it if your number comes out. As well as the draw, there are quite a few raffle prizes up grabs. This also includes a couple of meat trays put together by club sponsor Meat Matters, your specialist butcher in Eaglehawk. JL King continue to support us with excellent ready to eat meals. We thank them and our other sponsors for their support.

At home on Saturday, the Ones and Three’s both host Kangaroo Flat, while the Premiers are off to the Flat. The Sixers go to Bendigo East. On Monday the Thees are home to bendigo and the Sixers have a bye. The Ones have a danger game at Bendigo East.

Go the Borough!
